Police seek answers on mystery unmanned canoe sighted in river
Police are trying to find the origin of an unmanned canoe sighted in the Ovens River in Markwood, outside Wangaratta on Sunday.

A large piece of a kayak or canoe was seen near the Pioneer Bridges rest area on the Markwood-Everton Road about 9.30am.
Police believe the canoe may have been swept downstream in flood water.
The piece is described as dark orange in colour and appears to be a nose or tail.
Police haven’t received any reports of any missing kayakers. People should contact police.
