Scott William Bowerman had fought charges of careless driving following the smash on May 7.
A two-minute clip from a dash cam his wife bought him for Christmas was played in Wodonga court.
Bowerman was shown driving from Melrose Drive and onto the highway, towards Albury, as he listened to Melbourne play Hawthorn on the radio.
He screamed and swore as he rear-ended a stationary vehicle near the Spirit of Progress bridge about 6.50pm.
Police argued a reasonable driver would have slowed before the collision, but Bowerman argued he had nowhere to go.
Magistrate Stella Stuthridge found the charge proven but dismissed with no further action.
