The newly-created dog park at Belvoir Park has won over regulars and newcomers with pampered pooches able to roam and bark at will in the wired-off enclosure.
Sisters Angela Volpe and Amilia Dealtry have been walking at the park since they were children.
Yesterday their surrogate kids — Zac, 1, and Archie, 2 — were taking advantage of the late afternoon stroll.
The two dogs were both rescued from the pound.
“We bring the dogs here, let them off the lead and they are safe,” Mrs Dealtry said.
“I use it to train him. If it wasn’t fenced he’d be off at the sight of the first dog or duck.
“There are plenty of other people doing the same thing.”
