Free lunchtime recitals are being held at the Memorial Hall, including the full choir for Opera in the Alps singing on Thursday.
The three 2018 Opera Scholars Australia finalists have also been given an opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with international soprano and vocal coach Yvonne Kenny, before they perform solos at Saturday’s event.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for all the singers to work intently on their repertoire,” Ms Kenny said.
“It’s such a pleasure to be here.”
She said Opera in the Alps promised to be a show with a bit of something for everyone, from Mark Vincent to James Morrison.
Scholar of the year finalist, soprano singer Shimona Rose said she was looking forward to the event and had enjoyed practicing in Beechworth’s old town hall.
“The acoustics are amazing, it’s a beautiful hall,” she said.
