Walker, 15, was one of only two players under par as he took a one-shot lead into Thursday’s final round at Churchill Waverley Golf and Bowls Club, but couldn’t sustain it for the final 18 holes to finish fourth at four-over.
“He’s done exceptionally well,” his father Michael said.
“He’s only 15 and there was a lot of really good junior golfers, the best in Australia and some internationals.
“To have been leading the tournament was a great achievement.”
Queensland’s Tyler Duncan claimed the title at one-under par.
Fellow Wodonga products Daniel Gill (+12) and Joshua Smith (+57), Albury’s Samuel Bakes (+73) and Yarrawonga’s Baxter Droop (+33) also contested the event.
Philippines’ Yuka Saso was a comfortable winner in the girls’ Masters.
Saso’s win guarantees her a spot in the $1.3 million Victorian Open.
