The store opened at 6.30am, with a steady flow of visitors throughout the day.
Self-described Bunnings-tragics Graeme and Gayle Scott, of Lavington, said they were very impressed by the new store.
“I’m quite surprised at how big it is and it is very well finished,” Mrs Scott said.
Mrs Scott purchased a cutting tool to help with her china mosaics while Mr Scott browsed the power tool section, saying the pair didn’t need an excuse to visit the store and could never have too many tools.
