During the evening on Saturday 27th January 2018, a man was eating dinner at the restaurant with his partner and when they left, left their bag on the seat beside them.
This bag appears to have been picked up by a woman who had been sitting on the next seat over with two children.
After a few minutes, she handed the bag to staff at the serving counter before leaving the restaurant.
Moments later, the complainant returned to the store to recover his bag.
The bag was returned to him by staff and it was found that a substantial quantity of money was missing.
The matter was reported to police and CCTV obtained from the restaurant.
Wodonga Police are releasing this footage of a female who they believe can assist them with their enquiries.
This woman attended at the store with two young children at about 6.00 pm that day, and they had driven to the store in a brown-coloured 2003-2006 Hyundai Accent three-door coupe.
Her identity is currently unknown.
Police are keen to hear from this woman and are seeking the assistance of the community to identify the woman.
Anyone with information should contact Acting Sergeant Andrew Leonard at the Wodonga Police Station (02) 6049 2600.
