Jack and Tom McLean have both been in custody since the incident on December 15 last year.
They appeared in Wodonga Magistrates Court separately via video link from Metropolitan Remand Centre on Tuesday.
Jack McLean, 25, appeared calm and well-spoken – in contrast to his previous court appearance when he broke down in tears as he unsuccessfully applied for bail.
A letter from his lawyer stated a plea offer had been sent to the prosecution and asked for an adjournment until February 27.
Police prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Penny Lawler said both parties were likely to work out which charges would proceed and “it will resolve on that day”.
Charges laid include intentionally causing injury, affray and making a threat to kill.
A letter from the lawyer of Tom McLean, 23, also stated a plea offer had been accepted by the police. He faces other charges of dangerous driving and travelling at 80km/h in a 60km/h zone.
His case was adjourned until February 22.
Both brothers were told they would be transferred to Wodonga in person for their plea hearings.
Police allege the incident started as a road rage attack near the corner of Melbourne Road and Melrose Drive where Jack McLean hit the truck driver multiple times with the metre-long tool.
Tom McLean allegedly stood with a tyre iron in his hand, pointing at the victim.
Jack McLean has claimed the alleged assault “was a provoked attack” in retaliation for an attack on his brother.
The ordeal was filmed by multiple witnesses with cameras.
