16 Spurr Street and 48 Wilson Street, both in Holbrook, will be auctioned on March 16, by Elders Real Estate.
Member for Albury Greg Aplin said the two addresses were the first properties in the region, which had previously housed asbestos-riddled structures, to be up for sale.
“We have prioritised the returning of land to those property owners wishing to rebuild in Greater Hume Shire, and so far we have seen 10 properties returned to their owners,” he said.
“This is the first release of land in Holbrook where the government had purchased both house and land.”
Before being demolished, the houses were sealed and all asbestos was removed.
