I WISH to add my concerns to the loss to Albury of the Uiver.

I was born in Albury in 1929. My father was town clerk at the time, and I was out at the racecourse during the take off of the Uiver the morning after it landed.
Mr Newnham and Mr Ferris, both men responsible for the previous night’s efforts, and my father and I were all out at the racecourse with Alf Waugh, the mayor.
My memory of all this is as vivid as if it had taken place yesterday.
I believe it would be a huge tragedy for the region if my old home town lost yet another link with its wonderful past.
