A property summary that debuts in Saturday’s The Border Mail Domain section shows 35 Wodonga houses found buyers, with the sale prices ranging from $194,500 to $882,500.
The statistics report 10 sales in Albury between a high of $690,000 down to $129,000.
As well as sales, the summary also notes listings, rental numbers and points of interest in the Border markets.
In Albury, the average house sales price had gone down by 20.35 per cent compared with the same time last year while Wodonga had seen a rise of 11.34 per cent.
The number of houses listed for sale was far higher in Wodonga (342) than Albury (62).
The Border Mail Domain representative Jay Stjepic said the summaries just covered Albury and Wodonga now, but the plan was to extend them into other areas like Thurgoona, Lavington, Wangaratta, Benalla and Yarrawonga.
“We are putting the suburbs profiles together so that people looking at either buying, selling or renting can have an idea of what to expect from the market,” she said.
Mrs Stjepic said the figures came from pricefinder.com.au, which collected data from multiple sources and combined them into one report.
“Now prospective buyers can keep track of what the current market looks like compared to the previous year,” she said.
“It’s a good little snapshot to have, a quick referral guide, basically.”
Reader feedback had prompted the inclusion of rental listings and average rents in each suburb.
