Advertising Feature – North East Food & Wine Festival
The North East Food & Wine Festival will be held this Saturday, March 17, at Junction Square in Wodonga.
Presented by the Wodonga Institute of TAFE, in collaboration with industry professionals, the event is now in its sixth year and runs from 11am to 6pm.
Many of the region’s best producers will be showcasing their products to taste, try and buy. This is a great opportunity to discover the abundant range of gourmet offerings available in the region all in one easy location.
There will be more than 70 stalls for visitors to enjoy.
“We encourage festival goers to come along with an empty stomach as there will some brilliant food stalls on site such as Spanish paella, woodfired pizza, traditional German bratwurst, gourmet burgers, hot potatoes, traditional Thai, pastries and more on offer,” said Wodonga TAFE event co-ordinator Katie Shalevski.
“The event means people can come along and meet and talk with local producers and find out more about what is available in our area. It’s an absolute showcase.”
She said there will be plenty of seating for people to enjoy a meal which will be enhanced by live entertainment all afternoon.
“This is a family day out and there are plenty of activities to keep children entertained. You need to allow at least two hours to peruse all the stalls but we are hoping people will come along and make an afternoon of it – there’s plenty on offer.
“The free activities will feature local chefs and restaurants, regional producers of wine, beer and cider, all accompanied by live entertainment. Children's activities include face painting and jumping castles.
“To tie in with St Patrick’s Day Irish band Ceilidh Rogues will be playing from 11:30am until 2:30pm and followed up by local musician Marco Dodds.”
