Albury Council ended speculation on Tuesday following the ongoing redevelopment of the site.
This year’s grand final will be the first time the game will be hosted at a different venue since 1994.
Mayor Kevin Mack said the construction of the grandstand and amenities building wouldn’t start until later this year.
“We are totally focused on the redevelopment and there are no plans to bid to host major events until the stadium is fully completed in 2019,” he said.
The grandstand and amenities area redevelopment will start in October and take about a year to complete.
The project has been running over budget after the discovery of unsuitable soil on the secondary site.
Mr Mack said the council would welcome the opportunity to bid for the game with Lavington Panthers in 2020.
