A man who helped his brother conduct a violent assault on a truck driver will have to wait another three weeks before learning his fate in court.
Tom McLean, 23, appeared in Wodonga Magistrates Court via video link from jail on Wednesday, where he confirmed he would plead guilty to assault offences.
“I’ve been wanting to plead since the beginning,” he told the magistrate.
Older brother Jack McLean, 25, was last month jailed for six months over the incident in the middle of Melrose Drive in Wodonga on December 15 where he hit the victim and truck with a metal spirit level.
Tom McLean’s role involved threatening the man with a tyre iron.
His case was adjourned until April 4.
McLean was given the opportunity to talk to his father over the video link in court, but kept his head down when his father said hello.
He later told the magistrate he could see and hear the courtroom clearly and did have the chance to talk to his family.
