The 1995 model sedan was set alight on Felltimber Creek Road about 9pm on Sunday. 

The stolen car was gutted and police are investigating whether a key was used. 

Detective Sergeant Graeme Simpfendorfer said police believe the car was taken from Swan Street. 

“We’re investigating what, if anything, the vehicle has been involved in until it was burnt out,” he said. 

“Normally you steal a car for a purpose and whether that’s just for joyriding or to commit other crimes, that will be under investigation.

“Whether this particular vehicle was stolen with or without keys, we will find out.” 

Detective Sergeant Simpfendorfer said vehicles were generally targeted at random, but people should ensure their cars are locked. 

“Otherwise they’re just making it easy for people to take their cars,” he said.
