The purpose is to hear from people who live in the basin.
Commissioner Bret Walker SC, Senior Counsel Assisting Richard Beasley SC, and commission staff will visit areas stretching from Toowoomba in Queensland to the Murray mouth in South Australia.
Mr Beasley said it was important for the commission to listen to people and to see key sites first-hand.
“We anticipate this will be a significant part of the commission’s inquiry and will provide important information from local communities about the basin plan,” he said.
