The Noah's Ark Ovens & Murray team has been working with children on the Autism Spectrum and their families for many years.
They travel from Yarrawonga to Bright and north of Albury and all the way to Mansfield to support children and families to achieve their best in their homes, child care, kinder, schools and communities.
Occupational therapist Jane Tinkler leads the team of speech pathologists, occupational therapists and specialist educators, who are well-known in Wangaratta and have also recently expanded into a second office in Albury.
Noah’s Ark is a registered NDIS provider for NSW and Victoria for families of children aged 0-8 years.
“We begin our process by finding out what is going well, and what’s not going so well," Ms Tinkler said.
"We know that children need to be interested and motivated to learn, so we design your child’s therapy with you, your child, and the important people in your child’s life, and introduce ways to surround your child with everyday learning and therapy opportunities to allow your child to reach their potential.”
She said therapy and learning at Noah’s Ark was about more than just helping children to speak or move.
"We aim to support children to participate in everyday environments with their family and friends, to play, laugh and enjoy the same experiences as other children," she said.
"We are passionate and dedicated to focus on real life situations like the supermarket, at the park with other children, or planning for the first plane flight, so we can really make a difference in you and your child’s lives”.
Ms Tinkler said the team was highly trained and skilled in many areas including different ways to communicate, including AAC.
"We have Hanen Certified speech pathologists trained in More Than Words and TalkAbility, two programs specifically developed for children with Autism and internationally recognised as highly effective and evidence-based programs," she said.
