A crime scene has been established in a Wagga suburb after a man’s body was discovered on Tuesday.
Forensic services have joined Wagga police at an Ashmont Avenue home, near the Bulolo Street intersection, where the premises and surrounds have been cordoned off from the public.
A spokesperson from NSW Police Media confirmed police attended the scene from about 12pm when the body was found.
The spokesperson said a crime scene examination has since been completed.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed paramedics attended the scene about 12pm but there was no patient to treat, leaving the scene shortly after.
While police would not confirm, neighbour Joan Every said she hadn’t seen the man who usually occupies the house since Easter.
“I haven’t seen him for more than a month and I always look to see if he has lights on,” she said.
“I don’t know what happened but the police broke in to get inside.
“(He) usually goes to bingo at the Rules Club each Thursday but I haven’t seen him in weeks.
“I wish people wouldn’t be so private and neighbours who are alone would check on each other.”
