It was hard to tear Bruce MacLarty away from the action at the Albury-Wodonga Equestrian Centre on Thursday as some of the country’s top women players took centre stage on the field.
Amidst the flurry of flying hooves and fast-paced competition, MacLarty said he loved the friendships and fierce competition of his Aussie counterparts.
“There are top polocrosse players on display today,” he said, nodding towards the players competing in the Silver Stirrup series at the 2018 carnival.
“And the horses … they do the country justice.
“The Australian stock horse is legendary throughout the world as a breed and it never disappoints.”
MacLarty said it took dedication, practise, team work and good horsemanship skills to be a polished player.
Games and entertainment continue Friday, Saturday and Sunday – go to the Albury Holbrook Polocrosse Club Facebook page for more details.
