City got the better of the young Patties’ outfit at the weekend, 4-2, with another hard-fought contest expected.
St Pats star Claire Mahoney, 18, is the league’s youngest senior women’s captain and admits it has been hard to step up to the role.
“There’s a lot more responsibility,” Mahoney said.
“But it’s been really good so far, Josh (St Pats’ coach Josh O’Farrell) has worked with me to step up to the position and work with the girls, as well as still loving playing.”
St Pats have had one win against City in the past two years and Mahoney believes their mindset needs to improve claim another.
City coach Robert Brown admitted St Pats are developing well.
“It was a really hard game on the weekend, Patties didn’t give us a lot of time and I think defence is going to be one of the key areas again,” Brown said.
