A total of 16 events have been planned in the wine district throughout the sixth annual harvest festival, which runs from May 4 to 20.
Visit Victoria confirmed in February it would commit $75,000 a year over three years to develop the High Country Harvest.
The program of more than 50 events offers visitors the chance to sample local produce and meet the growers and producers.
Tourism North East chief executive Amber Gardner said Visit Victoria had confirmed the importance of the festival through the funding commitment.
“The High Country Harvest is the very best we have to offer in this space,” she said.
The 2017 event alone attracted more than 7000 visitors who generated $2.69 million.
Rutherglen Village Campfire will set the scene for the festival in the wine district on May 5.
Visitors can bring a picnic and sit around the Rutherglen Wine Experience and Information Centre lawns.
Rutherglen CFA will be on hand for the event, which runs from 5pm to 7pm.
Now in its eighth year, the Tweed Ride on May 5 is a 20-kilometre ride through wine country featuring three food and wine experiences.
Jones Winery and Vineyard will offer a creative campfire cooking experience on May 6.
Participants create campfire favourites and learn some new exotic recipes.
Valhalla’s winemaker Anton Therkildsen will offer a light-hearted evening of shiraz in Shirazzle Dazzle The Senses on May 4.
Journey from Rhone syrah to Rutherglen shiraz, with tasty snacks along the way.
