BO: How are you finding the challenges of coaching?
CM: I’m doing a mentor program through Netball Victoria and part of that was I needed to be coaching at a senior level. I thought I’d take it with two hands and go for it in case I don’t get the opportunity again.
BO: Have you found a difference between the Hume and Tallangatta league?
CM: I tend to find a few more ex-Ovens and Murray players are coming through because of the location around the area of Tallangatta league clubs.
BO: I see Georgette Meunier has headed back to Tigerland, is there any other big pickups or departures?
CM: Sarah Cardwell played at Wodonga Bulldogs a few years ago and Bec Hansen have come in and naturally worked together these past couple of games.
BO: Any young players we should keep an eye on?
CM: We’ve got Chloe Butters in our A grade who is only 17 and she came runner-up in the best and fairest last year.
BO: You’re playing again?
CM: I missed a bit of the pre-season with a foot injury, but it has recovered really well, so I’m certainly keen to play as much as I can.
BO: Most memorable coaching moment?
CM: The two premierships I got at Thurgoona. We made history by winning four flags in a row.
BO: Something most people wouldn’t know about you?
CM: Off the court I’m the first to have a laugh at myself and have a good dance and a singalong.
