The San Isidore homeowners returned on Saturday to find extensive damage due to a blaze that started about 10.30am.
Three fire trucks attended the Benedict Avenue home for about two hours, working to extinguish the flames.
Police and ambulance both attended the fire but no one was home at the time.
It’s the third house fire in less than a week, after firefighters were called to Adams Street in Ashmont shortly after 10pm on Tuesday night and a Central Wagga home on Wednesday morning.
The incident has prompted firefighters to remind households about being safe in the coming months as the temperature starts to drop.
Turvey Park fire station officer Justin Bentley said those drying clothes inside should make sure they’re at least a metre away.
“Start to use those appliances and turn them on to make sure they’re all in good working order,” he said.
Mr Bentley said it was important for families to practice an evacuation and have a plan in place.
“Make sure you have a working smoke alarm which is regularly tested and ensure fire places are clean and checked,” he said.
“Keep looking while cooking and test those electric blankets before use.
“Neighbours or any community member who spots an unattended fire should immediately contact a fire service.”
Mr Bentley said the Rural Fire Service was left to work with owners and police to determine the cause.
Riverina Police District said there was nothing to suggest the fire was suspicious.
