Rutherglen RSL secretary David Martin said the banner, presented by Prince Philip at Bandiana in 1986, did not often appear in rural towns.
“So it’s a big coup for a small community like Rutherglen,” he said.
“The banner is paraded on special occasions outside the corps and this just happens to be one of them.”
The banner will have an escort and be followed by 60 troops from Bandiana as well as Rutherglen’s veterans.
Mr Martin, a former RAEME member, attended the original banner presentation by the Duke of Edinburgh 32 years ago.
