The 2018 Australian Penny Farthing Tour started in Khancoban on Sunday and organiser Dan Bolwell of Melbourne said it was one of the best.
“I build them for a living – they’re actually about high speeds and long distance – they were the first bike to do 50 kilometres per hour,” he said.
“It’s not feasible to disappear and ride my bike, so the idea was to do a bit of Australia each time.
“We’ve done Melbourne to Dubbo and Dubbo to Brisbane, and now we’re doing the length of the Murray.
“We started where the Indi and Swampy rivers collide with the Murray, as that’s where the locals recognise the Murray as starting.
“Drivers have been fantastic and it’s been a beautiful ride.”
