It’s been a tough start for Ricky Whitehead at the helm, but he’s not putting too much pressure on the side.
“It is a must-win, but we’ll approach it like any other game,” Whitehead said.
“I don’t want to get any high expectations and throw anyone off.
“I’m quietly confident, but I don’t want to push that across the group, I want us to go out there and play good footy and hopefully that will take care of itself.”
Last week’s 103-point loss against Kiewa-Sandy Creek was the Swans’ only blowout in the opening month of the season, but Whitehead has been impressed with younger players staking their claims for senior spots.
“We had eight (last week) who didn’t play seniors the year before,” he said.
Full-forward Michael McWilliams returns and the inclusion of John Phibbs will bring more grunt and leadership to the group.
