The injury-ravaged Wodonga Diamonds got back to some of their best form with a 5-0 win against Melrose at La Trobe on Sunday.
Sides were well-matched during their last meeting, as Diamonds escaped with a 3-1 victory, but the hosts were much more clinical this time around.
Nichola Schubert put Diamonds into the lead after 27 minutes, before Tyler Maiolini doubled the buffer on the stroke of half-time.
Lilly Kennedy provided more joy for the home fans with Diamonds’ third in the 63rd minute, before Schubert and Maiolini struck again inside the final seven minutes to make it five unanswered goals for the victors.
Albury City, Albury United, Wangaratta and St Pats all had byes.
Diamonds will enjoy next weekend off, before meeting Albury United.
