It took less than a minute for ANU to find the back of the net and they kept the Spitfires on the back foot.
Summer Sutherland grabbed a late goal for the home side, but they were never really in the hunt.
Coach Jerry Sutherland admitted it was the best line-up his side has faced so far.
“Our girls relaxed a bit thinking it might have been an easy game,” he added.
“Sherren (Rahaley) was best on ground, she had a blinder and has a calming effect in defence.”
Meanwhile, in Hockey Albury-Wodonga division one women, Wombats-Beechworth upstaged Norths 4-1, Falcons beat Magpies 4-2, while Wodonga were a class above United, winning 6-1.
In the men’s matches, United hammered Wodonga 5-1, Magpies were too strong for Falcons with a 4-1 triumph, while Wombats and Norths had a 2-2 draw.
