Lavington captain Luke Garland will lead the league against Western Region at Yarrawonga’s JC Lowe Oval on Saturday.
“He’s obviously been a good servant of the O and M and loves his rep footy,” co-coach Brad Murray said.
“He’s exactly what we’re looking for in a leader, he’s vocal, he’s got experience and he’s a quality player who buys into everything we’ve been doing.”
The 28-year-old will be assisted by vice-captains Mark Whiley (Yarrawonga) and Matt Dussin (Myrtleford).
“The three of them are all quality players and blokes within the side who can generate energy and drag the blokes along with them,” Murray said.
“There’s others there too in (Mat) Grossman, (Michael) Newton and (Brant) Dickson, who are leaders but don’t actually have the official title.”
