Detective Leading Senior Constable Ian Deverell, of Wodonga Criminal Investigation Unit, said the split system unit, yet to be installed, was taken from Barnawartha Football Club about 5pm Friday.
“It was donated to the footy club and has a rough value of $300 to $500,” he said.
“They do fundraising to support their club and it's all community-based organisations, so these offences where stuff’s taken affect them.”
About 3.30am Saturday, police arrested a man in Pearce Street, Wodonga.
Detective Leading Senior Constable Deverell said a 33-year-old Wodonga man had been charged with burglary and associated offences related to driving and stolen number plates.
The man has been remanded in custody to appear in Wodonga court on Monday.
