The inaugural King Valley Balloon Festival will offer visitors another way to experience the food and wine region on June 9-11.
A mass of hot air balloons will float over the vine-studded valley, taking off from Milawa or Whitfield each day.
The festival culminates in the Brown Brothers Night Glow event, where all balloons participating in the festival light up in unison to the sounds of live music on the Milawa Airfield.
This sensory spectacular will be matched with mulled wine and warming wintry foods by Brown Brothers.
The event is run by Goldrush Ballooning, who operates regular King Valley Balloon Flights from Brown Brothers Milawa Vineyard.
The balloon flight experience (including transfers, set-up, pack-up and optional Brown Brothers breakfast) lasts between 3 and 4 hours and is suitable for ages 7 to 97. Full details at visitkingvalley.com.au.
