Sunday’s victory against Albury United means City have beaten all five opposition clubs in this year’s division one league.
Incredibly, City has lost just two games since round 21, 2016.
Cobram recorded a 7-3 victory against them on the eve of the 2016 cup quarter-finals, while Boomers scored a 1-0 triumph in last season’s cup final.
Up until that point, City had won all 18 of its league matches, therefore, on top of the four byes, collected the maximum 66 points to finish ahead of Boomers for the league title.
City midfielder Bridget McDiarmid capped off a near perfect year for the side by taking out the senior women’s star player, which was particularly impressive given the number of players taking votes off her.
Nine rounds into this season, City has opened up a five-point buffer to nearest rivals Wangaratta by claiming all 27 points on offer.
