Players aged between 17 and 20 have been invited to commence training with Murray’s under 18s and under 20s sides to fill available positions in both squads.
However, opportunities aren’t limited solely to players in that age bracket.
The Border NPL club will run six free training sessions, starting on June 4, for boys and girls born in 2003 and 2004, with consideration given to players born in 2002.
Murray is also seeking expressions of interest for two assistant coaches for the program from within the football community.
Murray United technical director Adam Carty is hoping to see plenty of interested players come along.
“With only 12 games played, there’s still plenty of football in 2018,” Carty said.
“We want to offer players who have thought about playing NPL, but maybe didn’t take the step to try out, to consider the challenge and step forward now.
“We are listing under 18s and under 20s, but it’s great to hear from other players who have wanted to join.
“The program’s intention is not to clash with players’ current community training commitments and players will not be asked to forgo any weekend commitments to their community club.
“The free six-session training program is designed specifically for non-NPL players who may be looking for additional opportunities.
“It will run the exact same way as a licenced NPL training program does and we believe this is a great opportunity for players and potentially coaches.”
Expressions of interest close on June 1.
