Confusion over the registration of Josh Warren, commonly known as Josh Warren-Marmo, saw the Cats exceed the 40-point limit during their round two clash against Mitta United.
The club’s committee met on Tuesday to discuss its options, but thought it was best to move on as quickly as possible.
“We realise we’re not the only ones and they haven’t used us as a scapegoat like we first thought,” Cats’ president Greg Lumby said.
“The appeals board has got a fair bit in front of them, so it could be a number of weeks before it was heard.
“We haven’t come up with any more evidence than what we put in the initial submission to the league.
“It’s only a written submission that goes to the appeals board, so it’s not as if we get to speak to them one-on-one,” he added.
