The inaugural Best Border Easter Egg Hunt has celebrated donating that amount to the youth mental health facility.
The March event attracted a huge crowd, with the 650 registrations selling out quickly.
“We didn’t expect that many people,” organiser Vince Glenane said.
“If we got 500, we’d be happy, but no, we exceeded that by hundreds.
“It made us plan for a better show next year.”
The 2019 hunt on Sunday April 7 will aim for extra children’s games and entertainment to create more of a family day.
“We’ve had people even now saying they’re going to come next year,” Mr Glenane said.
Headspace community development worker Bree Cross thanked the hunt committee members, saying they did a “phenomenal” job.
“It was such a lovely family event to be a part of as well,” she said.
“For people to come out and be part of it to raise funds for us is really heartwarming.”
