12.30PM: Counselling has been offered to employees at Norske Skog following Thursday's accident.
Australian Manufacturing Workers Union organiser Dave Corben said some workers had already sought assistance.
Emergency services remain on scene but say there is no risk to the public.
A meeting will be held later on Friday to discuss the incident.
SafeWork NSW staff are onsite and are investigating.
11AM: Member for Farrer Sussan Ley has offered her condolences to families of the two Norske Skog workers killed in the workplace accident on Thursday.
"It is something truly shocking for Albury," Ms Ley said on Friday morning.
"It is something very upsetting for all of us.
"I know in the days, weeks and months ahead those families will need our ongoing support."
7AM: A second person has died in hospital overnight following a toxic gas leak at Ettamogah’s Norske Skog plant.
Albury Wodonga Health has confirmed a 37-year-old man lost his fight for life after he had been taken to the hospital it critical condition.
It comes after a 28-year-old man died on Thursday.
Another 22-year-old man is still in a critical condition.
The hospital said 14 of the other 15 people taken to hospital after the incident on Thursday afternoon had been discharged, with one remaining in a stable condition.
Norske Skog general manager Milo Foster extended his and the company’s deepest sympathies to the employees’ families.
“Our first concern is to our employees, their families and everyone affected by this tragic accident,” he said.
“We will provide support to those affected and work with authorities to investigate what happened.”
SafeWork NSW was on site on Thursday and will be investigating the incident.
Mr Foster said Norske Skog was fully cooperating with all investigations.
