Cobram is struggling with a major lack of depth, which hasn’t been helped by the departure of star import Greg Simmons this week, who has returned to England for personal reasons.
Meanwhile, impressive youngster Tyler Seabrook has been approached by Goulburn Valley Suns to play under 20s, which would be a further blow to Cobram if he moves on.
Roar coach Bill Puckett said the squad has a huge injury list which it is finding hard to cover, but he’s been impressed with the character shown by the group.
“We’re struggling each week, there’s new players out and no-one coming in,” Puckett said.
“We had Nathan Thomas retire, Justin Smith and Ray Dirramacca are out for the season, I was out and played my first game last weekend and both the Feldtmann brothers (Aaron and Glenn) have been injured, so it’s been a challenging year.”
