Macca Hallows will join a select band of 15-year-olds, including former Sydney Swan Mark Powell and boom junior Corey Brown, in his first game against Wangaratta Rovers on Saturday.
“Last night (Thursday) I was just going for a lap and the coach (Simon Curtis) pulled me up and said, ‘we’re going to play you this week’ and I was pretty stoked to hear that,” he said.
“I was just focusing on playing some good footy in the 16s and hopefully play a few under 18s games.”
This will be the Year 10 student’s first game for the senior club as he’s never played thirds, due to GWS Academy commitments.

However, the three games against the Sydney Swans Academy finished last week.
Hallows plays midfield at junior level but at 179cm and just 68kg, he’ll start in the forward pocket.
“He (Curtis) said to play as a pressure forward and just try and play your role and embrace it,” he said.
“He told me all the boys will look after me and play your style of footy.”
Corowa-Rutherglen’s Will Chandler was another 15-year-old to debut against Rovers, kicking five last year.
Quite remarkably, Lavington will field both the oldest and youngest player in round seven.
There’s 23 years between John Hunt and Hallows, who doesn’t turn 16 until September.
Wodonga’s Jarrod Twitt is the league’s oldest player (39 in July), but he won’t play Albury due to injury.
