More than 200 industry, community and government leaders, supporters and alumni, attended the May 24 graduation in Wangaratta.
“All of the graduates have shown a keen interest to take on leadership roles in their communities, and some of this group have already joined community committees and boards, and launched new regional projects,” Kim Scanlon, AVCL executive officer and a 2008 graduate, said.
The 24 2017-2018 participants were drawn from Mansfield to Khancoban.
From July to May, participants met fortnightly to develop personal leadership skills, knowledge of the region, and network with community leaders.
A highlight was a four-day study tour to Canberra which included a meeting with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Governor General Peter Cosgrove.
AVCL is now recruiting for its next program, and applications close on Tuesday, June 22.
Details of the program and information about how to apply, can be found on the AVCL website www.avclp.org.au.
