A new display on the Urana Road bus shelter will be unveiled at 11.30am to raise awareness of the threatened species and what can be done to help it.
The event forms part of the squirrel glider LAMP project, which winds up later this year.
Project officer Lou Bull said Burrumbuttock had a long history of community action through Landcare to conserve the squirrel glider.
“Squirrel gliders, a cute fluffy gliding possum, are listed as vulnerable in NSW which is why it is so exciting to find them in Burrumbuttock,” she said.
The new display aimed to acknowledge the achievements so far and encourage landholders to continue conservation works “by leaving a lasting legacy in Burrumbuttock,” she said.
