Cr O’Connor and her stomping partner, Rutherglen Apex Club president Jamie Cooper, produced 2.4 litres in the allocated three minutes to finish just ahead of Cathy McGowan in potentially her final appearance in the event as Indi MP.
Reigning champion, Labor’s Jaclyn Symes, was third.
“I’m incredibly unfit so that was hard going, but it was great fun,” Cr O’Connor said.
“It is great to see the people come out in Rutherglen as they have today.”
Cr O’Connor competed last year with Indi Nationals’ 2016 candidate, Marty Corboy, and blamed him for their poor showing.
