A Wodonga man who punched his girlfriend twice in the face after she tried to flee their home must complete 105 hours of unpaid community work.
That comprises 75 hours on a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and the balance for failing to safely store a firearm.
Ethan Foster, 22, pleaded guilty when he fronted Albury Local Court yesterday.
The court was told how Foster and his girlfriend, then 19, were drinking alcohol at their then Table Top property on Australia Day when an argument broke out.
That happened that day, January 26, about 5.30pm when Foster’s ex-girlfriend sent him a photograph via social media.
They argued, she tried to flee, he threw her phone away and she punched him, with Foster retaliating.
Foster had illegally secured his firearm that day inside his car.
