Stand-in coach Mark Brown is hoping at least one Murray Bushranger can do an ‘Esava Ratugolea’ during the national under 18 carnival.
The Bushies are away to cellar-dwellers Bendigo Pioneers on Sunday, missing six automatic selections, including Lachie Ash, and Brown is hoping someone will stand up and improve their chances of being drafted, like the Cobram product in 2016.
“He didn’t kick a goal up until round seven and then over the national carnival, he kicked four and eight goals and the next thing you know, he’s right on the (AFL) radar,” Brown said.
The ruckman-forward had impressed at Geelong, playing eight games, until injury intervened.
