It is believed that at about this time, a 47-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were at a unit block on Kaitlers Road, where they had a brief conversation with an unknown man who was standing next to a grey Ford Falcon parked outside.
NSW Police said in a statement that after leaving in a Holden Commodore, the victims noticed two men run from the units and get into the Falcon.
“The two men then left the unit block in a Holden Commodore, and while doing so observed two further males run from the rear of the unit block into the Ford Falcon,” the statement read.
“This car then began to follow the victims at high speed.
“While being chased by the car on Hague Street, Lavington, a number of shots were fired in the direction of the Commodore.
“Eventually the victims lost the pursuing offenders in the North Albury area, at which time they noticed damage consistent with a shotgun shell to the rear bumper of the Commodore. One tyre was also deflated.
“Police from Murray River Police District were contacted and attended the scene. The Commodore was seized for forensic examination.”
Police will continue to make inquiries, and no arrests have been made.
