The four-year-old ($2.10F) edged out Fashion Tip ($5) by a length with Swizzle Sticks ($12) in third.
“She was last on the straight, she runs on,” Whitelaw said.
“It’s pretty hard in the heavy (conditions) to come from the back.”
The track was rated a heavy 10.
“It’s just fantastic to win, she’s a good mare, but a bit ratty and nervous,” he said of the horse.
“She doesn’t concentrate very well and wanders around.”

It was the mare’s first win from five starts, following two runner-ups.
“She only cost us $1500, and she’s now won $20,000, she’s probably square,” Whitelaw laughed, hinting at the costs of training a horse.”
ACT-based Japanese jockey Akira Kajiya rode the horse superbly.
Meanwhile, Albury trainer John Taylor also scored a win in the final race.
Hargy ($9) won the Benchmark 64 Handicap (1600m).
