Morey will meet with Strathmore coach Nathan Grima on Thursday night and hopes to be cleared in time for the Pigeons’ clash with ladder leader Albury at Albury Sportsground on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has played six senior and two reserve grade matches for the Essendon District Football League club this season.
"I'll be catching up with the president and coach on Thursday to talk about it face to face so hopefully it's amicable,” Morey said.
"Hopefully I can play on Saturday.
"I'm not sure at the moment though.”
The Melbourne-based Morey won Yarrawonga’s best and fairest in 2016 and would be a vital inclusion in defence for the young Pigeons as they attempt to replace Wangaratta or Wodonga Raiders in the top-three.
I suppose I just haven't found my feet down here and aren't enjoying my footy as much as I had hoped
- Logan Morey
He admitted he hadn’t enjoyed his football in the first-half of the season.
“I think I took for granted the positives of coming home and playing with your matches and being around your family when I matched it up with the travelling from Melbourne each weekend,” he said.
“I miss playing at home with people I'm close with.
"I suppose I just haven't found my feet down here and aren't enjoying my footy as much as I had hoped."
Yarrawonga will be desperate for Morey’s clearance to go through with class players including Mark Whiley, Nick Lawless, Brad O’Connor and Connor Hargreaves presently out of the side.
