Online shoppers in Albury-Wodonga signed up to Amazon Prime, will receive goods in two business days, the same subscriber rate offered to metropolitan users.

While same-day or one-day deliver is available in major cities for an additional fee, the service has come under fire for not offering subscribers in major cities free same-day or next-day delivery, like the company does in other countries.
Launching today, the premium subscription costs shoppers $6.99 a month or $59 a year.
In May, Amazon blocked Australian shopping on its international sites, to protest being charged 10 per cent GST by the government.
The online-shopping giant ceased shipping to Australia on July one, forcing shoppers onto the Australian website, which featured significantly less products.
At the time Treasurer Scott Morrison slammed Amazon for being unwilling to collect GST, saying “the second biggest company in the world, run by the richest man in the world shouldn’t get a leave pass”.
Today, the retailer announced next-day “priority” delivery would be available for an additional $9.99 in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Canberra.
Albury-Wodonga and other shoppers in regional centres will pay $11.99 for two-day delivery.

More remote customers will receive their priority shipping within five days.
Jamil Ghani, vice president of Prime International at Amazon said that the current offering does not rule out tailoring services more effectively for each country.
"This is just the beginning for Prime in Australia, as we will keep making Prime better, adding even more selection and benefits," he said.
