Mr Rayner is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at University of NSW, Sydney, majoring in mechatronics with a focus on agricultural applications.
His family operates a 1000 hectare broadacre grains farm, where his interest in working in agriculture first developed.
After finishing his studies, Mr Rayner intends to use his knowledge and skills to contribute to the rapidly growing market for autonomous vehicles in the cropping sector.
Mr Rayner was excited by the possibilities of technology in the agricultural space and was looking forward to developing more efficient operational options for farmers.
Rural Bank offers 15 scholarships nationwide.
