Gabrielle Mansfield’s Wangaratta house was raided last year with wads of cash hidden in various locations throughout the property, including $42,700 under floorboards.
Police seized about 310 grams of marijuana from a bathroom, six grams hidden under a pot plant, two grams in her slippers and money in her handbag and bedside drawer.
Mansfield was questioned by police but gave a “no comment” interview.
She had contacted a security company in a bid to get them to delete CCTV footage, which showed about five to 10 people attending the property each day for more than three months and buying the drug.
The employee became suspicious and contacted police.
Mansfield had disputed the weight of the drugs seized in the Wangaratta Magistrates Court and said her father had given her the cash.
But magistrate Stella Stuthridge on Thursday said “if she rolls the dice, the risks are immense”.
“At the end of the day the cash and cannabis didn’t materialise out of thin air,” she said.
The magistrate said her defence needed to be more than someone simply saying “I gave her the cash”.
She noted the drugs would have to weigh significantly less to be considered under a traffickable quantity.
Mansfield reconsidered her position and pleaded guilty before receiving a two-year corrections order.
