Indi MP Cathy McGowan has criticised news revealed by an ABC FOI, that telcos ordering 50mps plans on fixed wireless would incur a higher charge, compared to doing the same for a fibre customer.
“Not only is it going to cost more in the country but the NBN themselves have said they’re not able to give us the standard of delivery people in the city has got,” she said.
“The whole promise was we would get rid of the distance and great divide in this country by giving everyone access to NBN and clearly now it’s not going to happen.”
NBN conceded the proposed 50mbps fixed wireless bundle was more expensive than the fixed line bundle but said only 9 per cent of fixed wireless users were on the speed.
